A late summer walk around Little Malvern Court, Worcestershire

Little Malvern Court

This beautiful 14th century Prior’s Hall sits in the Worcestershire countryside at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

The Hall has an oak framed roof. The Hall was once attached to the former Benedictine Monastery, which dates back to the 1400s. Little Malvern Court became a family home after the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s. It still belongs to the Berington Family by decent.

While the house isn’t open currently there are 10 acres of gardens to wander round with wonderful views of the Severn Valley and the Cotswolds! The gardens have a series of garden rooms, including terraces and a rose garden. They also include a chain of lakes, which were formerly fish ponds for the monks who lived here. They follow the layout from a plan dated in 1720 and were lovingly restored in the 1980s by the Berington family.

I, for one, can’t wait to wander round gardens again in the summer. This was one of my favourite places I went last year. I love hidden gems like this one too. Do you like wandering around gardens?
